„Atalanta Fugiens“, the alchemical emblem book of the famous Renaissance alchemist Michael Maier, was first published in 1617.
The second version of 1618, which is displayed here in its entirety, depicts Michael Maier himself on the second emblem.
The book was highly praised by many alchemists, for it ‘depicts with sufficient clarity for clairvoyant eyes what is most secret and hidden in the Great Work’.
